New fabulous four-wheeled supercars worth millions can be seen this weekend at the exclusive Salon Prive motor show at Blenheim Palace.
ADVERTISEMENTIn a dazzling display of high-end automotive excellence, Blenheim Palace’s historic cricket lawn has transformed into a sanctuary for the world’s most exclusive supercars at the annual Salon Privé motor show. Each year, Salon Privé spotlights a different colour, and this year’s edition is blue. A collection of some of the world’s most exclusive blue cars has been gathered on the Duke of Marlborough’s cricket square.”On the lawn today we have more than £120 million pounds worth of cars. Two of which are 250 Ferrari GTOs. We’ve got Bugatti Chirons, Buggatti Veyrons, F40s, 512s, we’ve got 250 short wheel bases, 275 GTBs, we’ve got the most incredible collection of blue cars” says David Bagley, the co-founder and director of Salon Privé. Supercars for the super richMaking its UK premiere at Salon Privé is the Naran hyper coupe. The five-litre V8 sports car puts out more than 1,000bhp and promises a 0-60mph time of around 2.3 seconds or 0-200mph in 16.5 seconds. It is designed in the UK and features a two by two seating plan, so you can take three passengers for a white-knuckle ride around a race track.”It’s been labelled a hyper coupe, so it’s a two plus two, raw and visceral GT3 style car for the road. It’s a hyper car, we’re producing 39 of them and the idea is to make it feel like the automotives of yesteryear, when it was an accomplishment to drive them, an enjoyment and a challenge” says Harry Hughes, the marketing manager at Naran. Just 39 of the Narans will be built, making it an exclusive option for the super rich. But it comes with a super-rich price tag of two million Euros… but at least owners will get naming rights – meaning they can call their car whatever they want.Hughes explains: “Naming rights go to the beholder and basically from that point onwards it’s all bespoke. We’ve had people request horse hair, marble finishes, stripped out, all from there basically.Another highlight of the show is the launch of Tuthill’s GT ONE. The original car was built for the GT1 class for the legendary Le Mans race in France. It boasts a flat-six, four-litre engine producing up to 600hp, a full carbon-fibre body, and twin wishbone front and rear suspension. “This car sits a little higher than most cars of this type and we have a tremendous amount of suspension travel, therefore we should have a perfect road car,” explains Richard Tuthill – the boss of Tuthill. Salon Privé runs from 28-31 August 2024 at Blenheim Palace.Video editor • Theo Farrant
