Saquon Barkley may not be a Giant anymore, but he still made time to show one of the organization’s rookies some love on social media Sunday night.
After rookie receiver Malik Nabers had an impressive day against the Browns, the Giants posted a video of him to their X page.
Seeing the video later in the evening, Barkley wanted to chime in.
“Ya gonna hate on it… but idc!!! He’s LIKE THAT!!” Barkley wrote on X while reposting the video of Nabers.
Barkley spent the first six years of his NFL career with the Giants before he left in free agency this past offseason and signed with the Giants’ rival, the Eagles.
Interestingly enough, Barkley never played with Nabers, who was taken No. 6 overall in this year’s draft.
Nabers had an incredible day pulling in two touchdown receptions and recording eight catches for 78 yards in a 21-15 win over the Browns for the team’s first victory of the year.
In the video posted to the Giants’ social media account, Nabers told the camera, “Giants fans it’s Leek over here. Got the dub. Let’s keep it working. Let’s keep on moving.”
Some of his most impressive plays came in the second quarter, when Nabers was able to go up and over a Browns defender to make a catch before making an diving touchdown grab while managing to keep both feet in bounds on the same drive.
Nabers became the youngest wide receiver in NFL history to record two touchdowns in a single game Sunday as well.
Barkley was no slouch either on Sunday as the Eagles defeated the Saints.
He collected 147 yards on the ground and scored two rushing touchdowns for Philadelphia.
Barkley was impressed with what he saw out of Nabers this weekend, but he’ll get his first chance to face him next month when the Giants host the Eagles at MetLife Stadium on Oct. 20.
