No. 2 LSU went on to defeat Iowa State 197.300-194.100 on the night they unveiled their national championship banner in front of the most fans for a season opener in program history at 12,324.

Skenes, who is coming off an NL Rookie of the Year season with the Pirates, was shown on the SEC Network broadcast while Dunne was completing her beam routine.

Olympian Aleah Finnegan, who competes internationally for the Philippines, won the all-around with a score of 39.725 for LSU.

Dunne, a New Jersey native, celebrated the victory with a post on her Instagram stories with the score and the caption: “& that’s a tiger dub.”

Dunne and Skenes, who went public with their relationship in August 2023 but had begun dating prior, were out on a double date on Bourbon Street on Wednesday before the terrorist attack that killed at least 14 people and injured dozens.
