Bears safety Jonathan Owens might have a special salute for his wife and seven-time Olympic gold medalist Simone Biles if he nabs an interception this upcoming NFL season.

Owens and Biles married in 2023 and the gymnast is coming off a dominating showing at the Olympics in Paris where she won three gold medals — including the individual all-around — and cemented her place atop the sport of gymnastics.

The Bears defensive back was in Paris to support his wife, and now that he’s back stateside taking part in training camp with the Bears, he’s been working on a way to honor Biles while on the field.

In a clip posted by NFL Films to preview Tuesday’s episode of “Hard Knocks,” Owens is seen in a conversation with defensive back Elijah Hicks, who suggested that Owens has to do a flip after he gets an interception.

“Imma salute with it though,” Owens responds before mimicking the pose that Biles did to salute the judges during the women’s gymnastics floor final.

That particular pose was memorable for Biles since she had been penalized during the balance beam final for not saluting the judges and then finished her routine during the floor final only to hold the salute all the way until she stepped off the mat.

Hicks seemed to be insistent that Owens incorporate a flip into the celebration.

“You gotta do a flip and land it,” he said. “How hard would that [be]? That’s hard.”

Owens is in his first year with the Bears after signing a two-year deal with Chicago during free agency.

He had spent the 2023 season with the Packers, the Bears’ chief rival.

Owens hasn’t had an interception in a regular-season game since 2021 when he was with the Texans.
