Jamal Adams is looking for a new football home.

The Lions cut the controversial ex-Jets safety from their practice squad on Wednesday a month after he joined the organization.

He had been with the Titans earlier in the season, but was cut from there as well and now the three-time Pro Bowler is once again looking for a team to take a flyer on him for next season.

Adams received playing time sparingly while with the Lions, getting into two games as a practice squad elevation and was on the field for a mere 20 defensive snaps for Detroit.

The news came just days after an interview had been published with Adam expressing excitement for the opportunity he had in Detroit with the Lions.

“Obviously it’s a hell of an opportunity,” Adams said to football reporter Tyler Dunne. “And being home after asking for a release from Tennessee, I went home and decompressed. Just got away and wanted to clear my mind and make sure that I’m in it for the right reasons and I’m in it to chase my purpose and continue my career. And obviously, I sat at home for a couple of weeks and just trained the whole time.”

He added: “And obviously got the call (from Detroit) and man, it was a no-brainer for me. I’m like, ‘Man, what an opportunity. An opportunity to chase a ring.’ And that’s what it’s about, man.”

Adams’ career has never been the same since he requested a trade from the Jets, the organization that drafted him sixth overall in 2017, and was granted that request in 2020.

His falling out with the organization has made him a polarizing figure in recent franchise history and since the trade, Adams’ career has been plagued by inconsistent play and injuries.

Adams spent four years with the Seahawks and a torn quad tendon in 2022 ended his season in Week 1, and seemed to mark a big downturn for him.

He was released in the 2024 offseason, which brought him briefly to Tennessee.

Adams recently expressed regret over the trade request from the Jets.

“[Jets] fans, I didn’t know I hurt ‘em like that,’ he said. “I didn’t realize I had that much impact. And then obviously the older I got, I started to realize, ‘Bro, you had it all. You had it all besides the winning. Everything else, you had it all. Anything a player could ask for.’ But it didn’t work out for me. I asked for the trade out. And if I look back on it now, I would tell myself, ‘Don’t make an emotional decision.’ “
