Jordon Hudson was appreciative of boyfriend Bill Belichick‘s support Wednesday when she hosted an awareness dinner in recognition of the victim witnesses of the deadly terror attack that unfolded on New Year’s Day in New Orleans, which left 14 dead and dozens injured.
The new UNC football coach, 72, made a pre-Super Bowl appearance at Desi Vega’s Steakhouse, where the former college cheerleader, 24, acknowledged those who “do not walk away untouched” from traumatic events and how they’re vulnerable to “emotional injuries that can be life-altering,” an Instagram promotion of the gathering detailed.
“I appreciate his support, his partnership, and supporting things that are near and dear to me,” Hudson said of Belichick at Wednesday’s dinner, according to the Boston Globe.
“Bill’s a wonderful example of somebody who maybe hasn’t experienced the same things that I have, but when I get a clammy hand because I am experiencing a flashback or some kind of grievance, there’s a silent understanding and a sense of support that really keeps me anchored through any difficult period of time.”
Hudson, whose relationship with Belichick was first revealed in June 2024, expressed gratitude for those supporting her cause.
“Thank you on behalf of people that have experienced traumatic incidents. I think that just speaks to the depth of your personhood,” she said Wednesday. “A few people have told me he’s a great coach, too, I guess. It’s a very capacitive essence. Thank you for taking the time out of your incredibly busy schedule to be here and support this cause.”
Hudson also hyped Belichick’s accolades in her remarks.
“Somebody told me that he may have won some Super Bowls? And maybe even one here?” she joked about the former Patriots coach’s Super Bowl 2002 win over the Rams at the Louisiana Superdome.
Belichick won six Super Bowls during his reign in New England, which came to an end last January after 24 seasons.
He entered a new coaching era in December after agreeing to lead UNC’s football team.
This will be the first time Belichick coaches at the collegiate level.
